Moving between Escambia and Santa Rosa

People are often arrested in one county on the other county’s warrant:

  • Arrested in Escambia on a Santa Rosa warrant: Escambia’s Jail View shows a HOLD — SANTA ROSA CO SO and an OUT-OF-COUNTY WARRANT. The person may post the bond set on the warrant, or be transported to Milton. Out-of-county warrant
  • Arrested in Santa Rosa on an Escambia warrant: the reverse. Santa Rosa’s system shows the hold, and Escambia County Corrections picks the person up.

Once transported, the person disappears from one county’s current-inmate list and appears on the other’s.

Santa Rosa court records

Santa Rosa County cases are kept by the Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court, not the Escambia Clerk. Both counties are in Florida’s First Judicial Circuit, so the same State Attorney’s and Public Defender’s offices handle cases in both.

Frequently asked questions

Is Santa Rosa County Jail View the same as Escambia County’s?

No. Santa Rosa County Jail View is a separate system for a separate jail in Milton, run by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. It uses the same style of software, so records look similar, but you must search the county where the person was arrested to find them.

Where do Gulf Breeze and Navarre arrests go?

To the Santa Rosa County Jail at 5755 E. Milton Road in Milton, because Gulf Breeze and Navarre are in Santa Rosa County. Search the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Jail View, not Escambia County’s. The same applies to arrests in Milton, Pace and Jay.
