Frequently asked questions

How do I look up somebody’s court date in Escambia County?

Search the person’s name or case number in the Escambia County Clerk of Court’s free online case search and open the case’s scheduled events, which list hearing dates, times and courtrooms. You can also check the release paperwork, ask their lawyer, or call the Clerk’s criminal division.

Can I find a court date on Escambia County Jail View?

Partly. If the person is in custody, each charge on their Jail View record has a Court Information link showing the court details tied to that charge. For the full list of future hearings, use the Clerk of Court’s case search, which shows every scheduled event.

Why can’t I find the court case yet?

Right after an arrest, only a police report number exists. The court case appears once the State Attorney files charges or the court issues a capias, which can take days or weeks. Until then, the first court date is on the release paperwork, or the jail can tell you about first appearance.
