How does the 24 hour jail view work?
When you open the official Jail View without typing anything, you land on the recent-bookings list. A line at the top gives the count — for example “24 BOOKED Last 24 Hours” — and the people booked in that window follow in alphabetical order by last name. Each entry shows:
- a booking photo with an Enlarge Photo link,
- Status (usually In Jail, though people who already bonded out can appear too),
- Booking No, MniNo, Booking Date and Age On Booking Date,
- Bond Amount and Address Given (city and state),
- any HOLDS from other agencies, and a CHARGES table.
The window is rolling, not a calendar day. Someone booked at 9:00 a.m. yesterday drops off the default list at about 9:00 a.m. today, even if they’re still in custody. After that, find them with a name search or the booking-date fields.
How many people are booked each day?
Escambia County Corrections says it books and releases more than 15,000 people a year. That’s roughly 40 a day on average, with more on weekends, holidays and big-event nights and fewer on quiet weekdays. On September 26, 2026, for example, the official list showed 24 people booked in the previous 24 hours.
Why isn’t a recent arrest on the list yet?
A person appears only after booking is complete: search, property inventory, fingerprints, photo, medical screening, warrant check and data entry. On a busy night that takes several hours, so an arrest made at 2 a.m. may not show until morning.
Other common reasons:
- They were arrested somewhere else. Milton, Pace, Navarre and Gulf Breeze arrests go to the Santa Rosa County jail. Which jail?
- They got a notice to appear. For some minor misdemeanors, officers issue a court summons instead of booking.
- They’re a juvenile. Minors go to juvenile detention and aren’t listed. Juvenile arrests
- They were booked more than 24 hours ago. Search the name instead. Inmate search
How to find someone arrested last night (step by step)
- Open the official 24-hour list and use your browser’s Find on page to look for the last name.
- Not there? Search by name with Search For set to Both Current And Released — some people bond out within hours.
- Search a booking-date range. Leave the name blank, set Begin Booking Date to yesterday and End Booking Date to today, and sort by Booking Date, Descending.
- Wait and retry. Late-night arrests are often posted the next morning.
- Call the Detention Division at 850-436-9830 with the person’s full legal name and date of birth.

Is there a “jail log” or arrest report for the day?

Frequently asked questions
What is the Escambia County 24 hour jail view?
It’s the default page of the official Escambia County Jail View. It lists everyone booked into the Escambia County Jail in Pensacola during the previous 24 hours, with a count at the top and each person’s photo, status, booking time, bond and charges. It updates continuously as bookings are completed.
What time does the 24 hour jail view update?
There’s no single posting time. The list updates continuously as each booking is completed, and people drop off 24 hours after their booking time. Late-night arrests commonly appear the next morning because fingerprints, photos, medical screening and data entry must be finished before a record is published online.
Why is someone on the 24-hour list but not “In Jail”?
The list includes everyone booked in the window, even people released since. Someone who posted a preset bond, was released on their own recognizance, or was transferred can still appear with a status other than In Jail until 24 hours pass from their booking time.
How do I see Escambia County arrests from a specific day?
On the official Jail View, leave the name fields blank, enter that date in both Begin Booking Date and End Booking Date (MM/DD/YYYY), choose Both Current And Released, and press Submit. Sort by Booking Date to see the list in order. This works for any past date.
Does being on the booking list mean someone is guilty?
No. The list shows arrests and bookings, not convictions. The State Attorney decides which charges to file, and many are reduced, dismissed or never filed. Everyone listed is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court, so treat the list as a starting point, not a verdict.
