Accessibility Statement
We want everyone — including people using screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers or voice control, and people on slow phones — to be able to use this guide. Many visitors come here during a stressful moment, so clarity matters.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we’ve built in
- Readable text: a 16px or larger base font, short paragraphs, plain language and clear headings.
- Color contrast that meets AA ratios in both light and dark mode. Use the moon/sun button in the header, or let your device setting decide.
- Keyboard support: every link, menu, form and FAQ answer works with Tab, Enter, Space and Escape, and focus is always visible.
- Skip link to jump past the menu to the main content.
- Screen-reader support: landmark regions, labeled forms, descriptive link text, table headers and text alternatives for every diagram.
- Touch targets of at least 44 pixels on menus and buttons.
- Reduced motion: smooth scrolling is turned off if your device asks for reduced motion.
- No time limits, pop-ups, auto-playing media or CAPTCHA puzzles in our forms.
- Works without JavaScript for reading. Forms offer an email alternative.
Known limitations
- The official county Jail View and other government and vendor websites we link to are run by others. We can’t fix accessibility problems there, but we describe their layouts in text (see how to read a record) and list phone alternatives, such as the jail at 850-436-9830.
- Some diagrams are complex. Each has a written description, and the same information appears in the text around it.

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us through the contact form or at info@escambiacountyjailview.site. Include the page address and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days and to fix confirmed problems quickly.
