How to Bail Someone Out of the Escambia County Jail

To bail someone out of the Escambia County jail: first find their bond on Jail View (add up the BOND column in the charges table) and check for holds. Then either pay the full cash bond at the Correctional Facility (3080 N. Pace Blvd., Pensacola) or hire a licensed bail bond agent, who usually charges a 10% non-refundable premium. Call 850-436-9830 first to confirm the amount. Release typically takes a few hours after bond is posted.

Step 1 — Find the person and the bond

Search the person on Jail View and note:

  • the Booking No (the bond office and bondsmen will ask for it),
  • each charge’s BOND — add them up,
  • any NO BOND charges — if even one charge is NO BOND, the person can’t be released on the others until a judge acts,
  • any HOLDS — a hold can mean the person goes to another agency, not home. Holds explained

Step 2 — Wait for first appearance if needed

If there’s no bond yet (common for domestic violence, serious felonies and violations), the judge sets it at first appearance within 24 hours. Jail View updates after the hearing.

Step 3 — Choose how to pay

Option A: Cash bond (full amount)

  • Pay the entire bond at the jail’s public bond payment area.
  • The money is refunded to the depositor at the end of the case, minus unpaid court costs, fees and fines. Bond refunds
  • Best when the bond is small or you’re sure the person will attend every court date.

Option B: Bail bond agent (surety bond)

  • A licensed agent posts the bond. You pay a premium, usually 10% of the bond (Florida sets a minimum premium), plus sometimes collateral for large bonds.
  • The premium is not refunded.
  • You’ll sign an indemnity agreement. If the person skips court, you may owe the full bond.
  • Verify the agent’s license with the Florida Department of Financial Services before paying.

Step 4 — Call the jail, then go

Call 850-436-9830 to confirm:

  • the exact total bond and whether any charge is still NO BOND,
  • accepted payment methods and hours for the bond window,
  • whether the person has any holds or special conditions.

Bring a government photo ID and the inmate’s full name and booking number.

Step 5 — Wait for release

After bond is posted, the jail completes a warrant check, release paperwork and property return. Expect several hours. DUI arrests must also finish the 8-hour/0.05 hold. Releases after an afternoon first appearance can run late into the night. How long release takes

The person is released from the Correctional Facility at 3080 N. Pace Blvd. Plan transport — cell phones may be dead, and property may be limited.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Paying before checking holds. Your bond could “work” while the person is transferred to another county or ICE.
  • Paying an unlicensed “bail” service or anyone asking for payment by gift card or wire. Real agents are licensed.
  • Confusing inmate account deposits with bond. Money sent through the jail’s deposit vendor funds commissary and phones. It doesn’t pay bond.
  • Missing court afterward. A missed date forfeits the bond and brings a new arrest. Failure to appear

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to bail someone out in Escambia County?

It depends on the bonds set for each charge. With a bail bondsman you typically pay about 10 percent of the total bond, which isn’t refundable. With a cash bond you pay 100 percent, and most of it comes back at the end of the case after court costs and fines are deducted.

Can I bail someone out at night?

Usually yes. The Escambia County jail operates 24 hours a day, and bail bond agents work around the clock. Call the jail at 850-436-9830 first to confirm the exact bond total, whether any charge is still NO BOND, and when the public bond payment window is accepting payments.

How long after bond is paid is someone released?

Usually several hours. After bond is accepted, the jail completes a warrant and hold check, release paperwork, any Pretrial Release conditions and property return. DUI arrests must also meet the eight-hour or 0.05 breath-alcohol rule. Releases after an afternoon first appearance can run into late evening.
