This policy explains what information escambiacountyjailview.site (“we”, “us”) collects, how it’s used and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Contact and removal forms. When you send a form, we receive your name, email address, the topic, any page address and your message. We also receive your IP address and the time sent, which we use to prevent spam. We use this only to answer you and act on your request. Form messages are delivered by email and are not sold or shared.
Search boxes. When you search for a name, the name (and any first name and status you choose) is sent to our server, which asks the official county Jail View and shows you the results it returns. If live results aren’t available, the search box instead opens the official Jail View and shows you what to type there. We don’t keep a log of names searched. To reduce load on the county server, results for an identical search may be cached for up to 10 minutes under a scrambled key, and the cache is deleted automatically within about an hour.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit — to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time.
We don’t collect or publish personal information about inmates, and we don’t publish booking photos.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Preference storage: if you choose light or dark mode, your browser stores that choice locally (localStorage). It’s never sent to us.
- Analytics: we may use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are useful. GA4 uses cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location, with IP anonymization.
- Advertising: we may use Google AdSense to show ads (see below).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
When ads are enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices and, in the EU/UK, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

- Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or other U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to know, correct or delete personal information, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. - To correct or remove information on this site, use the removal & correction request. There’s never a fee.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Data security and retention
We use HTTPS and collect as little as possible. Form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the request. Automatic technical caches are deleted within about an hour. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date when we do.
